Ultherapy Non-surgical Facelift In Miami
What Is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a non-invasive, non-surgical facelift/facial rejuvenation procedure that uses ultrasound and the body’s own natural healing process for lifting, toning, and tightening loose skin. The FDA-cleared device used in the procedure utilizes the safe time-tested energy of ultrasound to stimulate the deep structural support layers of the skin—including those typically addressed in a surgical facelift—without disturbing the surface of the skin. Your skin’s response to this energy is to recondition tired skin by stimulating the growth of fresh new collagen. The treatment result is tightening and gradual lifting or shifting of the skin back into a more youthful position and form-fitting shape.
What Does Ultherapy Involve?
Unlike lasers, which penetrate the skin from the outside-in, Ultherapy bypasses the surface of the skin, specifically targeting the deep structural skin tissues where collagen lives.
- Using ultrasound technology, Ultherapy works from the inside-out to lift and tighten skin non-invasively.
- Ultherapy is a 30-60 minute in-office procedure.
- There may be some toning and firming immediately following the treatment, but the full lifting and tightening effect will build gradually over the course of two to three months.
- Some patients may see results continue to build for up to six months.
- The majority of patients only need one treatment. However, depending on laxity levels and the body’s biological response to the ultrasound and collagen-building process, some patients may benefit from more than one treatment.
Who is an Ideal Candidate for Ultherapy?
You may be a good candidate for Ultherapy if you are experiencing tissue laxity in an area such as the:
- Under the chin
While Ultherapy is designed to tighten skin that has become thin and loose with age, it is necessary to have some amount of good tissue elasticity for this modality to work well. When you consult with us, your provider will hear your concerns and listen to ensure that they understand your goals and expectations. After a thorough skin evaluation and discussion about your desired outcome, they can determine whether Ultherapy will adequately meet your needs. When tissue elasticity is severely diminished, surgical lift procedures tend to be more appropriate.
How Do I Prepare for Ultherapy?
All you need to do before your Ultherapy appointment is drink plenty of water, avoid too much sun exposure, and, on the day of your appointment, arrive at our office with clean, makeup-free skin.
What is the Recovery and Aftercare for Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a no-downtime procedure that you can enjoy even amidst a busy schedule! After your treatment, your skin may appear flushed for a few hours. Swelling is possible but it is relatively rare for this to occur. Your skin may also feel tender to the touch for up to a couple of days after your treatment. This is due to the deep absorption of ultrasound energy. To remedy this, you can take an over-the-counter pain reliever like acetaminophen. Aside from being gentle with your skin and taking medication as needed, you won't have special aftercare instructions that you must follow. Your body will do all the work under the surface to rebuild firmer, smoother skin.
How Soon After the Ultherapy Process Will I See My Results?
Ultherapy is a natural lift for your lower face or other areas where the signs of aging are affecting your appearance. It works by stimulating ongoing collagen remodeling, so takes time to achieve noticeable improvements. The process of tissue remodeling begins immediately and can continue for six months or longer. You may see some bit of tissue tightening right after your procedure. This is the result of energy absorption causing tissue contraction. These initial results may degrade to some degree as your skin relaxes. However, after about three months, you can expect to start noticing that the treated area looks smoother and firmer. Over time, newly formed collagen strands will continue to tighten, lifting the skin further.
